Saturn was created by pj30something
I just spent about 3 hours with Saturn tonight. I was determined to get a pic of it through the scope, but alas...It was not to be. I got about 3 mins of movie of it through the scope and there are some nice frames (small but nice) in the movie. You definitley know what you are seeing.

I then just observed it with the scope and WOW..............even better then the 1st time i saw it the other night. I could clearly see the Cassini (narrow as it is). Also saw a clear colour distinction between the surface and the rings, and 3 moons orbiting the planet.

I didnt get my pic but it was time well spent trying. I really must get a fitting for my scope that will allow me to attach my cam to it.

Here's one of the frames from the movie. Its a bit blurred (ok a lot blurred). Looks perfect just observing with the scope.

That image is zoomed in on. Its about 1.5-2 times bigger then the image in the scope. Small enough in the scope but its a nice viewing size and very crisp.

That's not bad at all Paul,

It's just an ordinary compact camera held up to the eyepiece.

I was up at Cloon wood last night with some of the SDAS guys.
It got VERY cold later on. But I did manage a quick look at Saturn before the clouds rolled in.

Michael.

You should have all came to my place...not a cloud all night and not too cold.

The image was taken from a movie i made on the cam looking through the scope. It was pretty hard to keep it still, hence the level of blur.

I had fun doing it...thats the main thing.
