One time I looked at the Obsession website and it had comments from a guy in Galway. I think he got an 18". I forget his name though. He must be lying low for fear we all suddenly become his best friend! :)

John T. 20 inch owner in Galway Ireland says"My eyepieces finally arrived and I set up my new 20" at the weekend. We have had a full moon so I restricted my viewing to Jupiter and Saturn up to 317x with my Radian 8mm, all I can say is AWSOME. The thrill of seeing something real with my own eyes after looking at images for the previous 25 years is indescribable. After waiting this long for a proper scope I know I have hit a winner. !"

 I'll have to make do with my 70mm for a while yet...

Talking of large scopes a friend of mine often visits a chap in Roscommon with a 30+ inch scope.

Is he a member of this site, I wonder?

I forget his name, I'm hopeless at remembering them.

Eamon Ansboro occassionally stops by here. He has a fantastic setup alright.

Thats Eamon Ansboros scope deffo. If folks are seriously interested in big dobs you could do a lot worse than talk to Phil Lardner he makes beautiful scopes. Also Wally Mee's 20" scope is for sale IIRC:)

I gotta say for anyone who has never used a really big scope, you haven't seen the sky until you seen it in a 20 inch:) Even compared to the 16" I use a 20" is bloody awesome!

I've seen through some of these big Dobs at the WSP over the years, and the image of M13 is just fantastic.
How much is Wally selling the scope for ??

Like all big scopes, a second mortgage perhaps?

I'm gonna build one myself one day...
