Congratulations, John, on your recent purchase -a 150mm triplet apo no less! I would love to see the scope some time soon. The extraordinary thing about the whole thing is it looks almost identical to my William Optics FLT158 apochromatic refractor. It is also white. Mine has a 2 inch Crayford focuser and after a recent modification, it operates magnificently. It has standard and fine focus. I don't aim to do photography with my scope, so I am extremely happy with a wonderful altazimuth mount -the Berlebach Planet tripod. It is perfect for what I need.
By the way in a past post, you were interested in bringing your new telescope to Sandymount for an observing session. I am suggesting next Friday night -the 30th December for a group of my friends to go to the Martello Tower on the coast road. Perhaps you would like to come along also -weather permitting. You would be most welcome. I am keeping myself free for the event.

Yours sincerely, Aubrey.

Nice to hear from you again, John. You certainly have me studying my refractor once more. I'm sorry you are having a slight problem with your focuser. The first thing I would do, if I were you, would be to contact the manufacturer of your telescope to see if they could upgrade to a better focuser, preferably to a 2-speed focuser similar to mine. I do not think my focuser will suit your telescope -I may be wrong. My William Optics focuser is very elaborate -suitable for serious photography. It does not have a model number; it is a 3.5" Crayford focuser, rotatable design, integrated 1:10 fine focus and a 115mm focuser travel length. The telescope's focal ratio is F/7, and its focal length is 1121mm. As I said in an earlier post, I do not wish to become an astrophotographer. I only use the 2" and 1.25" adaptors that came with the focuser. I should also point out I did have serious problems initially with my focuser in its first year of ownership. However, William Optics fixed the problem very efficiently. So whatever you are considering doing,John, be most careful before you make any decisions.

Yours most sincerely, Aubrey.
