Best Astronomy Software for Apple Mac? was created by knolan
Colleagues,
I'm looking for software like Stellarium, or "Distant Suns" or "Sky Safari" for iPad; but for OSX.
I'm after the very best such software available - particularly to be able to show the night sky with exquisite realism and also to possess exquisite flexibility to zoom into constellation features such as nebulae, and navigate the sky, during public talks.
Is there a consensus on what is the very best such software available?
Thanks for your thought on this.
Kind regards,
Kevin.

I use Stellarium on OSX all the time. I think its probably the best.
Stellarium has an OSX installer.
Other astronomy software I use:
Registax. Via wine skin wrapper
Autostakkert. Via wine skin wrapper
Astra image. Via wine skin wrapper.
