Hi Mark,
Thanks for the info on that, I had a feeling that there wasnt a way around it using PCanywhere.
If you can remember the astro software, that would be great !!

Albert,
Going from what was said above, I dont think VNC will work, but I'll give it a go all the same, you never know.

Thanks

This is just a shot in the dark but have you got the relevant drivers installed on the workstation to view the files form the webcam!!!!

Hi Lexi,
I have drivers installed on both machines, but I dont think they'd be neeced in the remote machine, but it doesnt matter anyway, as UltraVNC works :P

The refresh rate of the webcam image is about 5-8 frames per second on the remote machine, not as fast as the image you'd see on the server but thats ok as its good enough for focusing etc..

Albert,
Thanks a million, I owe you one, big time.!!

Hi David,

From a discussion on the lx200gps group it seems that most people use MS .net technology to couple pc's and controls their scopes. It gives more control then pc anywhere and goves less hassle. One of the guys has blue tooth connections between his pc's. But I think normal wireless network components will do the trick too.
S, I take it your dome is operational now? How does it perform?

Hi jouke,
Thanks for that, I'll have a look into that and see how it fairs against VNC.
I'll be using a wired network link to the observatory.
When its up, I'll let you know what it's like.
