Io as it just finished a transit with its 2,200 mile shadow moving across Jupite was created by Neil40
Hi all, I hope you are all well. I fought the clouds last night and captured some images of Jupiter and its volcanic moon Io just finishing a transit. I really wanted to capture its shadow moving over Jupiter's surface, which is why I stood out the back for hours getting little breaks in the clouds and grabbing a few quick videos. Details.
Cpc 1100
Zwo 385mc
X-Cel 2x barlow
Images have between 3 to 5000 frames
Bortle 8
Seeing: pretty crap!
All processed a bit differently using AutoStakkert + RegiStax. 6.

Excellent again Neil. Soon you'll be using the Jovian satellites to calculate the speed of light, as Roemer did in 1676

Thank you for these very good images, Neil.
Your image of Jupiter is good and large, and the moon Io and its shadow look stunning too.
I'm also noticing that wide white band in the North Equatorial Belt. Quite unusual!
The 2 dark festoons look great also
Clear skies from Aubrey.

Thanks guys. The seeing was quite bad and it was also pretty windy. I got a half decent image of the GRS. If its good enough ill post it after I watch Oppenheimer. Given the length of the film that should be some time in the new year!
