Another blackeye - doh! was created by dmcdona
Folks - M64 again, this time through the C8.

Details:
Object M64 (Blackeye galaxy)
Date/time 09/05/05 23:12 UTC
Exposure 30 sec
Image no. 12
Imager DSI
Mount AP1200
Scope C8 SCT, F6.3 reducer

I've a long way to go as regards processing - there's still significant 'graininess' in the image. I suspect that this has to do with camera settings (gain and offset plus contrast) which I have yet to master. If anyone has any tips or tricks, I'm all ears...

I've also to master the AP1200. I haven't yet calibrated the PEM (periodic error management) and I've still to use SmartGuide - an inbuilt logic that corrects errors due to poor polar alignment ( :D ) and a non-orthoginal optical axis. Thank goodness for this spell of clear skies!

Cheers

Dave McD
