The Scutum Starcloud Region was created by Keith g
Hi all, Some nice work lately with shots of the Moon, Mars & M57 :D
Might as well keep the ball rolling with this one, it's from my last imaging session earlier in the month. I've only had time now to process it.

This is the Scutum Starcloud region of the milkyway once described as the 'Jewel' of the milkyway by pioneering astrophotographer E.E.Barnard, it's that lovely bright patch of the hazy light of millions of stars along the plane of the milkyway north of Sagittarius. We are looking straight into the next inner spiral arm of our galaxy through this relatively dust free region, though is flanked by dust either side of it and is a great sight through binoculars.

This shot is roughly centered on the 'wild duck' cluster M11, also visible is M26, and some other open and globular clusters. This is a low resolution shot which looks ok...

Details:
Date: 10th July 2005
Location: Annestown, Co.Waterford
Camera: Canon 300D with Canon ef 85mm f1.8 lens at f2.8
Exposure: Single 6 mins
Set up: Piggyback on C8
ISO: 400
Processing: Slight adjustment to levels PS7

Hope you don't mind the low res...Keith..
