I have an old image of Comet Holmes that I managed to process during the Xmas. This was a mosaic of 9 fields, reduced by a factor of 4.
The FOV is 45' x 45', north up.
Holmes diameter is 35', larger than the Sun & Moon. Physical size 2.5M Km.
A mosaic of 9 fields was needed to cover the full extent of the disc halo. The infrared shows more detail at the core.
Mosaic of 9 Fields. 0.4m SCT f/5 + Apogee CCD AP7p Each field: Luminance = 1 minute exposure (6 x 10 secs) Infrared or I = 2 minute exposure (4 x 30 secs)

MOD: Edited by Seanie Morris as incorrect link was inserted.

Very nice Eamonn, its looks quite diffuse and has a good bow shock in that pic.

Thats about as much as i saw the other night with my bins. I'm sorry i missed Holmes at it's best but i'm just glad to have caught the tail end of it (so to speak).
