Lots of extra features.
Main differance from an astro point of view is low noise and bigger chip area, the rest I'm not bothered with as Im not a professional photographer.

Is the Rebel XT and the 350D the same camera?

I wonder will they continue to manufacture the 300D when this one comes along? Looks like a direct replacement to me (and a way of increasing the price point for their prosumer offering)

Well, if the 300d is been phased out, then they might have a sale to get rid of the stock.
I'd say it'll hang on as a very cheap DSLR solution.

Looks like a great update to the 300D.
