Imaged SN 2011fe in M101 was created by JohnONeill
Hi,

Managed to get an image of the SN 2011fe in M101, despite being low from MA.

15x60" exposures with the 106mm refractor.

Yes, indeed Keith,

That night I made it mag 11.263 using DSLR Photometry (Tri-colour green channel).

Last night (2/3 Sep 2011) I saw it visually with the 106mm, I estimated it mag 10.5. No supernova has appeared that bright since SN 1993j in M81 in 1993 and the current one may surpass that one!

The SN 2011fe in M101 peaked at about mag 10.0 or 9.9 in mid September 2011. It now has declined slightly.

I estimated it to be 10.1 on Sep 18th 2011. See AAVSO for charts. Follow the link to Variable Star Plotter.

I also added a recent image of the SN to my website. See link on first post.

Nice one John, it still is quite bright.I am trying to get my own shot of super-stardom with my set up, but the weather has been terrible with cloud almost every night :(

Keith.
