Skywatcher ED 80 is good choice. Very good quality, mag up to 200x. And can be also used for ground observing.

Hi fguihen! there is a scope for sale on ebay from an ebay shop! its a celestron 6" schmidt cassegrain!

cgi.ebay.ie/Celestron-6-SC-Teleskop_W0QQ...Z32942QQcmdZViewItem

It is €600 and shipping to ireland is only €25! the scope is coming from germany hence the cheap shippiing(DHL)!
This scope costs £550 sterling on greenwitch not including shipping!

Looks like a fine scope!
Hope this helps,
Matthew

I wouldn't get over-excited about that ad just yet Matthew, the picture shows a tripod but the scope of delivery (Lieferumfang) makes no mention of it. Ask before purchase!

How about this:

hubblesite.org/the_telescope/hand-held_hubble/

* Takes amazing images
* Fits in your hand
* You can make it yourself!
:D

Seriously though, the lads did offer some good advice.

However, if you are looking for a first telescope, I personally would recommend something with a low magnification. The higher the magnification, the harder to aim. If you don't have binos already, then this should be the first step IMHO.

Do you have binos?
