Is my Telescope alright for a beginning.... was created by caseyciaran
....or would I need to buy a new one.

Its an Atlas Explorer D=60mm F=700mm

Any scope is a good beginners scope unless you buy it from Smyths toy shop or somewhere like that. Plenty to see using a 60mm scope.

Hi Ciaran,
is your scope a refractor? If so, then for the size of it, it's not a bad starter scope. An even bigger one would have been better of course. The best you are going to see is bright planetary images, but not much detail, apart from the shape of Venus, maybe 2 cloud belts on Jupiter, and the shape of Saturn. The rest will just be bright discs. It will be fab for lunar viewing, and also on the brighter clusters and nebulae. Still, use it to learn and appreciate more, and as time goes buy, you can then decide what larger scope to buy.
