easy way to remember order of the planets was created by ezPZ64
Hi everyone,
Just thought I'd share an easy way to remember the correct order of the planets( in order of distance from the sun.)I dreamed this up one night in bed when I should have had a bit of sense and been fast asleep! The first letter of each word in the following little phrase represents the first letter of each planet. " My Very Elegant Mum's Jewels Shine Up Nicely." Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune.
(Pluto no longer qualifying for planet status). When you're my age any little help you can get in the memory department is a bonus!

Right first time! Delighted to have come across this site. I'm fairly new to this astronomy game and it's great to have somewhere to chat with like minded folk and to be able to ask questions.
