Have the same problem with the 1100D and my Nexstar 4.

I turn the ISO up to max. then find a bright star near what i want to shoot. and use it to focus using live view on the DSLR.

Then try and take the shot.

Results... no great, but you have twice the aperture I have some maybe you can get better results.

I have been told that its easier to use eyepiece projection, you need an adapter the you lock onto the top of the eyepiece and then slot into the T2 connector on the DSLR. you should be taking what you see in the eyepiece.

Have not tried it myself yet, but spoke to a guy in the States who gets great shots from a Nexstar 4.

Yes i came across one of these gadgets before and reckon this is the only option to see what we actually see in the eyepiece in a photo!

A digital enhancement with cropping just aint good enough! Like the weather ................. Havnt used my scope in days !
