Comet Leonard will be south of Venus this evening, binoculars should be enough to see it, but you had better be quick.

Anyone having any joy with the Comet?
I'm out at the moment, but I can't see it... Maybe a bit too low from where I am... Houses in the way.
All the best,
Darren.

I got out my 20x90 binocluars in an attempt to catch Leonard, a combination of bright skies and nearby hills frustrated me. I guess somewhere in the west coast overlooking the ocean would have been preferable.
Venus displayed a really nice crescent, Saturn showed his rings and three moons of Jupiter were seen to the west of the planet.
At least that was something.

Clouded out in Limerick.
There are conflicting reports of whether or not the comet had an outburst, but an average of the varying magnitude estimates seems to work out around 4.5
Finbarr.

Cobs.si is a good site for latest comet magnitudes. It got down to +2.6 for a short time, back up to +4.3 based on latest data.

Hi Paul, Finbarr, and Neill.
Very many thanks for your messages. Yep, Venus looked very nice Paul. I didn't take a look at Jupiter or Saturn though.
Thanks for the update Finbarr, 4.5mag is pretty good considering some reports thought it was breaking up only a few days ago.
And thanks Neill, for providing that website, I look forward to checking it out.
Clear skies,
Darren.
