I've read reports that there is some radioactive stuff on board..............but i reckon that is speculation because that kinda info would be kept top secret.
Once they blow it up in orbit...................any radioactive material should not effect the planet.
It will just be MORE space junk created by man.

The intercept attempt, which will involve a Standard Missile 3 fired from a U.S. Navy Aegis ship, will take place during a window that opens after NASA's space shuttle Atlantis returns from its International Space Station-construction mission Feb. 20 and will remain open for several days.
