Excellent work Mike!
Frank, we are waiting for a full report! It must have been a heroical expedition last night, eh? Good luck to SAC Geminid obs. session, and to all other observers.
Weather permiting, some folks here in Athens will try to observe and Capture some IFOs, too. Brrrr! (too much cold)

Hi Guys
In keeping with the theme of this thread here is two links for last nights video meteor observations summed for each camera. Despite a number of hours of cloud cover there was definitely more activity and brighter meteors.
I have additional software for determining object's coordinates, angular velocity, direction, linearity, magnitude and classifying meteors and their radiant etc but I need to spend some time to figure it out.

Good tom see that yourself and the folks in SAC got to see a nnice number of them.

Good images again Mike. Quite a few meteors there.

Just getting my stuff together to head to the Burren.
One thing,
last night I shot A LOT of frames and I was sure I would
have caught at least 20 good meteors.
I ended up with just one and at that it looks pretty poor!

Now my sky here is not ideal but not that bad I thought.

I was shooting with a wide angle lens at 12mm F4 ISO1600

Going on what I read (from Gerry Ludgrass -
you shoot wide open with a high ISO (like ISO 1600), you point it somewhere about 45 degrees from the radiant at a dark section of sky away from any light pollution. You shoot a LOT of frames)be all
It should be the right set up.
Maybe I just need darker skies?

To answer my own question,
It looks like using an 18-55 mm lens instead of the wide angle one
will pick up the meteors better.
Smaller field of view but I guess it's a trade off.

Just in from a quick session 15mins maybe in that time I counted 14 gems, not very good a determining magnitude but visible for maybe one to two seconds.
