Excellent images Paul, is there anyway of figuring out where these are exactly (latitude). I had a quick check at midnight but didn't see anything although I didn't have a great northern horizon..

Lovely shots Paul, nice catch.

Haven't seen any NLCs yet this year - not for want of looking but, more due to uncooperative skies.

Thanks all, it was certainly an impressive sight. I was hoping for a repeat last night but despite having partial clarity to the North, nothing at all happened.

Plenty more time yet - last year the best sightings came in July.

As for the trigonometry Dave, if I had been paying more attention 30 years ago I might remember how to work out the distance. Maybe we need Frank to draw it out for us :-)
