I knew it!! we had almost blanket cloud here but there were gaps in the north and it was looking very white/bright in there, but with no other decent sky to see it against, I couldnt be sure.

I saw them at about 2.45am, brilliantly bright. I must agree with Jonathan, they were probably the best the best I've ever seen. I'm just glad Jonathan managed to catch them. Well done mate.

I was in exactly the same boat as you Dave L. Only seen very small section through clouds and i thought it looked like i was missing something special. Great to see images of it on here too.

Great images Jonathan. Really like the second one with the pier silhouette. Looks like it was a really good display.
