Stephen and Michael, you are both right. But, this has long since passed by the wayside. The chap is John Nooney, and he had a home built observatory and alot of trimmings to go with it.

Mullingar as we know it, no longer has a club. I think that web page you posted has remained there unchanged for over 2 years (from when I remember first finding it), and all the pictures on the site date from 1999.

Hi Guys - I'm just new to this forum, but I'm wondering where is the nearest club to me - I'm guessing Waterford (B&L) or Shannonside -
is there anybody even nearby?

Hi Seamus,
You'd be more then welcome to come along to any of our meetings, but to be fair, you'd be in for a loooong drive, it would be much more practical to go have a look at the Decies Astro Club, they're in Dungarvan as far as I know.
