scopes and space closed was created by scfahy
Was just looking at the Scopes and Space Website and its saying they are now closed.
I think Ktech is the only supplier in the Republic now. I saw Astromania also closed in the UK.
What other Sites are you going to for Astronomy Equipment at present ?
Scopes and Space is now Closed.
It is with deep regret that I must advise all our customers that Scopes and Space Ltd has ceased to trade with immediate effect. All customers who have placed orders with us recently have been written to directly to advise of the current situation and what will happen next.
Please be aware that the premises at Unit A8, Airside Enterprise Centre, Swords, Co. Dublin. is no longer occupied by the Company.

Sad to see they're gone,
We have a fairly good list of shops on our website if you're interested

I agree, I too found Carl quite decent. Just dropped around there today only to be greeted by the notice in the window.
Good luck to you in whatever your next venture is Carl, keep the faith!

That's a shame.
Its fairly competitive out there now with lots of online retailers in the EU. The Irish market is quiet small and the economic conditions don't help either. I wish them all the best.

Very saddened to hear Scopes & Space have ceased trading, I would really like to see the guys bounce back from this and continue their excellent service to the Irish amateur astronomy community.
We have not only lost a shop but also great support for amateurs on many levels, I consider the guys in the shop friends and they helped me out very quickly if I was stuck for any parts that I needed in a hurry and of course always great advice, indeed I popped in on occasions to be greeted with cups of tea and a long chat, it was those kind of experiences that made Scopes & Space more than just a shop. A big loss indeed, I can only wish the guys the very best, onwards and upwards.
