Spectacular NLC display this morning was created by gammarayo
Hi everyone,

At 2.50am, i popped outside to have a quick look at the night sky when i was greeted by an amazing NLC display along the northern horizon.
It was my first time i had ever seen Noctilucent clouds. And what an amzing sight it was. The hairs stood on the back of neck as i gazed in awe at the ghostly white glow. So i dashed in and got the camera and tripod and raced out into the field and took over 200 images!
I will post some of them later. I am quite happy with what is my first attempt at imaging NLC's. They spanned from the northern horizon all the way around to the east and were up to 40 degrees in altitude. Absolutely amazing!!
Anybody else share my experience?
I'll post the images when i learn how to post images here

Great stuff Ray,
I had a look around 00.30 and there we're no NLCs visible, looking forward to the images. :)

At last, i picked three images from last nights bunch. All were taken with a tripod mounted Canon 350D ISO800. 1st and 2nd image taken at 3am. 3rd taken at 3.45am.

They are lovely images!

I'm thinking of getting a 350D myself and those images are a great advertisement for it!

Thanks guys.. I think the Canon 350D has justified its price tag. I am really happy with it.

I was so excited to see the NLC's so i took many images with different exposures and ISO settings. I wanted to capture them as they were presented to me in all their splendour.
