Hi, Fermidox. Do you want to come down to Dublin?

I'm only joking. You probably want to stay where you are. Is it Cavan or Limerick?

Clear skies wherever.

Thank you, Dave and Finbarr.

Jupiter and Venus will be slightly less than 25 arc minutes apart at 10 pm Irish Summer Time.

Last Friday night at 21.00 hours, I saw Venus with my own eyes reasonably high in the western sky.
This is why I have suggested setting up scopes up at that time. It will be fun to see what time we shall see Callisto, Europa, Io and Ganymede in telescopes or binoculars as well as the 2 brightest planets. Venus is magnitude -4.4, and Jupiter is -1.8.
Now all we have to hope for is clear skies everywhere in Ireland.

Aubrey.

I got this shot about half an hour ago from here in Limerick, :)
The weather is looking good for a nice naked eye spectacle later on

Excellent shot, Dave.

I should have said the Sun will have gone down behind some houses from our location at Sandymount from about 9pm.
I also see there is a rain belt stuck in the Atlantic. See www.wunderground.com and click on wundermap.
