Your tickets for Novo last year cost less. I paid 670 euro from what I recall whereas you were at 520 euro or so.
See if Egypt Air has flights to Dublin.

It is a good price anyway. How often will we have an excuse (or an opportunity) to visit Africa and/or Kenya.
Anyway, I hope some of my friends here give it some serious thought. It would be really cool if we can meet in Nairobi for the eclipse. We can offer Seanie to the natives for a sacrifice.
Anthony.

LOL.
I think you might have another one or two thrown in for good measure!
How long do you plan in going for Anthony?
Would be a great excuse to visit the Serengeti National Park.
masai Mara Natioonal Reserve also looks interesting

4-5 days should be plenty for a trip, yea?

Michael,
My plan is to leave Athens very early afternoon on January 12th (Tuesday) and depart Nairobi on January 16th (Saturday). Of course, the eclipse itself is on Friday January 15th (early to mid-morning).
I would like to be there a couple of days prior to the eclipse so as to identify my desired location for the wideangle time-series I hope to pursue as well as to locate a nice spot for the rising eclipsed sun on eclipse day itself which, hopefully, will include a giraffe etc.
Since the skies near the equator are totally different, I also hope to pursue some star trail images as well as some widefield shots of the southern constellations.
Now that I think about it, I will need the hotel to sleep during the day since nights will be under the starry sky.
Anthony.

Or to the lions...
It reminds of joke about the two hikers out on the african plains. They see a rather hungry lion who quickly spots them. The two hikers freeze. The lion licks its lips. One of the hikers, barely moving, reaches into his backpack and slowly, slowly, draws out a running shoe. He reaches in again and slowly, slowly draws out a second running shoe. His pal sees this and remarks "you can't outrun a lion". He replies "I don't need to outrun the lion. I just need to outrun you..."
