My Celestron 70mm shows Saturn just like Dave's picture. Even though the range of objects visible under a small 70mm scope is limited, having a scope at all has gotten me outside looking and learning my way around the night sky. This has been a wonderful life enriching experience that I could easily have but off for many years while waiting to afford a larger scope.

Here's a book I'd recommend for users of small scopes:

"Turn Left at Orion: A Hundred Night Sky Objects to See in a Small Telescope - And How to Find Them "

This shows objects that can be seen realistically in small scopes all through the year. It should be a mandatory part of any small scope package.

Thanks guys, yeah I seen Saturn just as you've shown it there...I didn't really know what to expect to be honest but I think I did hope to see it a little bigger, It's not that I'm disappionted with what I've seen (although bigger would be great) I just thought I was doing something wrong!!!

I feel better now knowing that I have been doing it right....

Thanks for all your replys

Hi Lexi,
Sky and telescope have a run down on your first scope, skyandtelescope.com/

worth having a look at, even for your "second" scope
