Hi folks,
We thought it was time to start a thread for Tullamore Astronomical Society's forthcoming Star Party, COSMOS 2005 (in association with the Irish Federation of Astronomical Societies). This is Ireland's second longest running star party, and is in its 15th year. It will be held on April 1st to 3rd in Annaharvey Equestrian Fam, Tullamore.

A "poster" will soon be distributed to clubs here, and it is also icluded in the forthcoming Arcturus magazine (courtesy of John Flannery, SDAS)

So far, just to whet your appetites, the speakers list includes:

Peter Coxon, Associate Professor, Dept. of Geography, Trinity College Dublin

Ms. Grainne Kirwan, MSc MLitt BA, Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, & Tullamore Astronomical Society

Dr. Neil Trappe, B.Sc. Ph.D., Dept. Experimental Physics, NUI Maynooth

Mr. Terry Moseley, Irish Astronomical Association

Prof. Ian Sanders, Senior Lecturer, Dept. of Geology, Trinity College Dublin

Over the course of the coming month, members of TAS on these boards will be able to answer any queries you have, and we will keep you updated as things progress.

Alternatively, if you wish to get in contact wth us, email us at tullamoreastronomy@yahoo.co.uk.

Seanie,

There is Dave. Ms. Gráinne Kirwan will be talking about "Psychology & Astronomy". She is a Masters student in the field, and has been very busy of late with her course and work. Should prove to be intriguing as well as interesting!

The Friday night will also encompass a general get-together, registration, formation of exhibits etc. as well as Observing if the weather holds up for us. So far, Cosmos has had 5 consecutive years when at least one of the two nights was observable.

L.S.

Would it be a good idea for all the 300D owners to get together at Friday night and compare notes on software/focussing/results and any other topic that interests us?
