I agree with the IAU as well.
Pluto has always been the odd one out. When it was discovered we just did not know about similar object like Pluto in that area to classify it properly....

Does it really matter how many of them there are out there? It doesn't change Pluto one bit if Pluto was on it's own or if there are a thousand Plutos out there. It's still the same Pluto doing the same Pluto thing.

It is important in science that we are openminded to changes ... otherwise we would still teach children that the world is flat and that the Sun and planets evolve aroun us ...

Not quite the same thing, we haven't discovered that Pluto was something different to what we thought, it's just that we're going to label it differently.

I'm with Dave Grennan, leave Pluto as a planet.
