Looks like pleasing everybody is hard!

Since 4/5 want to keep the pdf, I'll keep the pdf.
4/5 also want a jpg, and starry night seems to be the most popular choice, I'l try to also include a jpg from starry night.

I'll leave this poll open for another few days in case people want to voice other opinions.

I prefer to see a link in the post, and let the post load away. I always right-click on the link and let it download in a new window. I'm on 5.6K modem, so this suits me better... unless the file is under 50/60KB in size, then it doesn't take so long to load in the open thread window, then its not so bad.

That's a good point Seanie.
On several other websites, there's a limit of 60kb applied to all images. If someone wishes to post an image bigger than this, they can simply link, which is often the case with large astrophotos. However, with star charts, a slight loss in detail/resolution shouldn't matter.
