I'm not sure I'd feel safe with all the equipment doing that.
here here, I think a trip to Russia is looking very likely in 2008.
The problem is accomodation, that city is not exactly a holiday resort.
What problem?!?! Bing a tent!

I had a quick glance in the Lonely Planet "Russia and Belarus" guide in Amsterdam Airport and there's Irish bars in Novosiberisk . . . that'll do me
