Moon Halos and mosiacs was created by phoenix
OK guys,
I had a small window without clouds but not enough for the scope. I had to go out to the car for something and I was rewarded with a beautiful halo. It was really, really dark in the middle and almost looked like I was in the middle of someone elses eyepiece. Anyway I took four photos E,N,S,W and I want to mosaic them. I have photoshop and I have tried this before with NLCs with no success. Any tips on how to mosaic in phtoshop would be welcome

Kieran.

Kieran,

From what I understand, you'll need Photoshop CS.

I think you go:
File --> Automate --> Photomerge...

Micheal,
I've Photoshop 7 but still need about two years of learning to get the most out of it.

Kieran - open your first image in Photoshop and go to image->adjust->canvas size and make it four times as wide, you can then open the other three images and copy/paste them into the new expanded canvas. Note - when you do the canvas resize, make sure the image is kept to left (when you see the position buttons, just hit the left one).

When you paste the new images, you can nudge them with you keyboard direction arrows to get them aligned.

If you get stuck, I can do it for you or talk you through it over the phone.

Kieran,

See if it has the option under "File".

If not, you can send me an e-mail with the images and I'll create a mosaic for you, if you want.

Dave,
I have done the copy paste in photoshop but I still end up with very sharp edges in the mosaic. I got this far with NLC mosaics and gave up due to blending problems.

Micheal,

I'll send the images but they are not very high res so good luck
