You would have seen Croghan Hill standing all alone against the landscape to your right as you would have drove between Tyrrellspass and Rochfortbridge on your way back to Dublin yesterday! :)

Well, I go up for hikes now and again, you can see all the way to Enfield easily from up there. Ihaven't tried it at night yet, but I plan to! It's about a half hour hike from bottom to top.

This is the thing Dave, there are many places in this area where you can set up. I mean, most of the land is agricultural, and the 2 or 3 villages in the area are not heavily polluted. Sometimes, I just go down the bog roads and find a spot. That part is easy. The challenge I am setting myself up for is to actually do some observing (small scope, of course!) from the top of Croghan Hill!. It'll be a fun challenge, but on a clear night? I'd say pretty remarkable!
