Hi Brendan,

Here is a link with all the updates you need www.celestron.com/c3/downloads.php?Produ...%5D=92&Submit=Search . Just download and save motor control firmware and hand Control firmware. I'll send you down the PC programming cable that plugs into your mount and the USB to serial port that plugs into the bottom of the hand controller. Just be very careful you don't unplug the mount or loose power to the computer while updating because the mount or hand controller will become useless. If you have skype and a webcam I can go through it with you. You can email me @ carl@webtreatz.com with all your details.

Carl.

I finally made time to update the HC and MC this evening. Everything seemed to go swimmingly. I checked the versions on the hand controller and the two I installed this evening came up. As far as I could see they were the latest version. The HC is 4.19 and the MC is 4.16. It’s totally cloud cover out there now so I’ll have to wait for a clear night to reset the GOTO and all.

Thanks all your help guys, especially you Carl.

Brendan

Hi Brendan
I updated my own CG5-GT a while back to the latest versions and it does make quite a difference. I can’t see Celestron offering any more updates for their older mounts but you never know. The CG5-GT as proven itself to be a worthy entry level EQ mount and good value as well. Best of luck and hoping to see more of your work here on the forum.
