Even though they probably wont point cassini at the comet, its really great to see such a detailed response.
You're missing the point Peter, the aim was to get a side on view of the comet, HST would have the same view as us (angle wise) and of course we no one wants to damage cassini.HST would do an infinitely better job.
The relatively feeble optics on far-away Cassini would not see much anyway.
(Leaving aside the danger to Cassini of looking Sunward.)
