Even though they probably wont point cassini at the comet, its really great to see such a detailed response.

HST would do an infinitely better job.

The relatively feeble optics on far-away Cassini would not see much anyway.

(Leaving aside the danger to Cassini of looking Sunward.)

You're missing the point Peter, the aim was to get a side on view of the comet, HST would have the same view as us (angle wise) and of course we no one wants to damage cassini.
