Hi Mikey
Just more dis-info in publishing false beliefs in alien threat from outer space. The intelligence services guys must be getting bored in Langley! The Columbia disaster of 2003 has much more prosaic explanations.
Just because people are “educated” as you say, doesn’t necessarily mean there are smart all the time! Examples…

Heavier-than-air flying machines are impossible.
- Lord Kelvin, ca. 1895, British mathematician and physicist

There is no need for any individual to have a computer in their home. -
Ken Olson, 1977, President, Digital Equipment Corp.

I think there is a world market for maybe five computers.
- Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM, 1943.

There is not the slightest indication that [nuclear energy] will ever be obtainable. It would mean that the atom would have to be shattered at will. -
Albert Einstein, 1932.

When the Paris Exhibition closes electric light will close with it and no more be heard of. - Erasmus Wilson (1878) Professor at Oxford University

Perhaps You-Tube is not a bastion of truth after all! :)

"NASA management failed to recognize the relevance of engineering concerns for safety. Two examples of this were failure to honor engineer requests for imaging to inspect possible damage, and failure to respond to engineer requests about status of astronaut inspection of the left wing. "

Maybe they will learn...after the next accident....
