Hi,

Just joined - not aware of this forum  (must get out more!!)

Late 40's and interested for many years.

Have a fair chunk of armour including N11gps, 2 Refs and 2 Refls and other goodies. Have recently completed warm room and trying to get as much as I can remote (live under reasonable dark skys). As usual I'm considering growing a few more inches so some gear may go.

David

Thanks,

ehhhhh it was Carl O'B who directed me. I've been on Cloudy Nights for years and I never thought there was similar format local. Am annoyed having missed out up to now but hope to contribute in the future.

hi,

my name is Conan Mc Donnell.
I'm based in Limerick and have always had a passing interest in astronomy. I felt it was time to increase my passion and knowledge of the skies so i recently bought an 8" Newtonian reflector (Skywatcher 200/1000) with an EQ5 mount.

On the First night i took it outside i was fortunate to gaze at beautiful Saturn with the moon all in the same field of view. It was truly amazing.

I really enjoy photography as a hobby and i'm hoping to bring these two passions together.

I have managed (albeit very roughly) to photograph Saturn using a Sony 7.2mp Compact camera held up to the 10mm eyepiece.

Like any beginner i have a million questions. I haven't even polar aligned my scope yet and only figured out how to collimate it the other day.

I look forward to evryone's input and clear skies in the future....!
