Sounds good in theory but in practice i'd say it would be very hard.

Good luck :)

Might be less expensive in lost cameras if you buy direct off this lot:

Nice site Peter.

But isn't it much more fun when you build your own rocket?
Especially when you try and make a space shuttle out of a

Reliant Robin's are hard to come by, so I'd rather use a Starlet perhaps! :D

mconnors,
you're a person after my own heart. I too wondered about sending a camera up in a baloon to tak aerial photos. Of course, the hardest parts are a baloon that can travel high altitude, and a camera (with a transmitter for me) with a long enough range to send back the pictures. The way I thought of it was to use a couple of small helium baloons, and at that, probably one inflated inside another (as some form of protection), and the payload being a camera/webcam on a timer, and a transmitter of some type. My proposed launch site would be Croghan Hill, near me, and is the highest point this side of the Slieve Bloom mountains.

I never pursued it, but if you were to consider this project, I'd love to see your exploits and progress.

Balloons spin and wobble.

Camera Stabilisation= horrific expense.

Reality crashes home.

The expensive equipment crashes somewhere else.
