Beautiful photos John,
I'm about to set-up my scope.
Fingers crossed it clears up.
All the best,
Darren.

Now it's my turn to be under a 100% overcast sky.
But I'm not giving up hope just yet!

@Darren
No, no, that's the Celestron Sky Portal app, just a screen capture
I think the cloud is destined to get heavier here 98% predicted by 22:00 (Clear Outside App) and getting worse.

Got a brief glimpse of the moon but nothing more... myweather2.com still giving a clearish window before midnight.... sweeping for Venus through binoculars seems faintly ridiculous!

I'm getting brief glimpses of the Moon at 40X.
Its magnitude is -11.3.
Distance = 364,359 km.
76.1% illumination.
32.8' angular diameter.
10.5 days old.
I saw Mare Crisium very close to the eastern edge.
Tycho, Clavius, Copernicus, Jura mountains look very good indeed with a dark shadow on the western side.
The Carpathian mountains look very good too.
Aubrey.

Here's my efforts, one through a gap in the clouds in twilight and one through a hazy sky giving a nice Corona (not virus!) effect!

Enjoy!
