I don't see the difference.

Most people would be safe, but given you're luck, the chances of you been gored and trampled by a hoard of charging elephants is quite high, make sure you get a good life insurance policy :P

Ah jeeze, you're not picking on me AGAIN are you Zorba?! :silly:

I was considering this trip about 2 years ago, purely from the point of view of taking in the African wonders. It was even thought of going there instead of Tunisia, which ended up being my honeymoon destination 2 years ago. Such is life. My wife and I will probably just keep the pennies aside for the next decent Total Solar Eclipse.

Seanie.

P.S. Talk about forward-planning, we already are looking into the 2017 eclipse of the mid-east USA!

Seanie,

Strange as it may sound, MANY people around the world are concentrating on 2017 and the eclipse on American soil.

It will also be a good opportunity for some equipment purchases while one is there.

I just did a quick check flying from Cork, via Heathrow and it worked out at about €500. This is flying out 12th and back 17th. Mmmmm, tis tempting isn't it.
Is anyone seriously considering going?
Would love to go for longer though really but I shouldn't even be reading this thread (Anthony, you are a bad influence and should be banned from this site:unsure: )

Gents,

The price of oil is rising almost daily ... do not let the airline ticket pricing get out of hand. ;)
