Hi

I noticed some people got some really bad weather today, but tonight there was a very unexpected KP 7 aurora, I checked the charts last night and NOAA only had predicted a weak impact from a recent M-Class flare, so had no camera to work today. But during the evening when I was supposed to be working there was a major impact at 1800UT, Just perfect for us, On the way home at 1130pm there was this huge auroral arc from the NW to NE

Later several colourful pillars stared streaming, of course no camera and no diesel, light flashing, just like last time. Anyways got home and out the door and went back south as heavy cloud to my north and advancing fog coming from my south.

A wonderful display, my second this year and the best since this time in 2003, red and greens all over the norther sky, these are just a sample and the photos are raw, grainey and unprocessed, they look way better on my canon 400d camera LCD

I hope e enjoy them and that some of ye got to see this

And just before I went to bed this

Of course could not sleep so look out at 4am, KP still at 7

Well done Ronan, thanks for the SMS updates too. It was clear when I was in studio, then I got home at 00:20hrs and it was all clouded over again... Grrr!
