yeah but the google one looks way cooler.
What about using a light pollution map of ireland off the google site
with just little telescopes as markers with the club enitials on 'em?

Y'know where it has a list of IFAS clubs on the main page.
wouldnt it be cool to have a map of ireland
and on the markers when you hover over 'em the club name appears
and when you click it you go to the site?

I think actually now that I'm thinking about it I could make one up
ans an image with imbedded html....

or is it a case of too many cooks?

ah to hell with it...i'll do it ,,,its fricken cloudy out! :D

ooh, hadn't tried Maporama Albert. Perfect for the big cities as it can find major streets. Thanks for that. I was just about to give up on it. Funny, SDAS was the one I was using for the tests.

I'll try and find the correct coords for the other clubs and put them in & will update the logo as well. Will let ye know which clubs, if any, that I can't find.

I'm using a click event to show the club details with a clickable URL in the info window but I think that can be changed to a hover.

its fricken cloudy out!

that's a shock Frank!

ok, so its not a dead duck, we could use google earth to get the co-ordinates of all the club meeting places,
shannonsides is at
52D 39' 11.40" NORTH
8D 38' 21.17" WEST

I thought the idea was to have the map on the home page, where people can see at a glance what clubs are near them.

Cheers
Trevor

I agree Trevor, this is what I originally had in mind, and place it between the Welcome and Beginners Section,
Seanies map is perfect for the job, its the right size, it just needs a blue sea and a more neat icon system for I.D.ing each club.
Seanie, if you havent got time to be playing around with the map, send it to me and I'll quickly do up a nice jpg with several icon options, you can pick the one you like and expand/mod it, I just want to get something up there.

As for this google earth strategy, it wont work on the front page, put it as a link off on another page if need be.
How about we keep it easy first off and get the "simple" map up and running first.
If you want to talk about the front page, can someone remove the CSP details, they are no longer relevant and can someone please fix the typos on the page.

If someone wants to send me instruction in a pm/email on how its done, I can do it! We cant expect Bart to do everything around here.
