Well, I made my Filter for my Stellarvue F80 Finder/Spotting/RFT scope. Boiled sweet tin with the bottom dremeled out and spraypainted with the dregs of a spraycan left over from a previous mod.


Got a few minutes of clear skies this afternoon to test it out. Its very counter intiutive but all those wrinkles are invisible in the view as I was told they would be (but didn't quite believe).

Used an orange planetary filter on the eyepiece to change the white disc view to pale orange for aesthetic reasons. I actually think it made the small sunspots on the disc more visible tbh.

Fingers crossed for Wednesday. I'm ready!! :D

well, just seen the weeks weather on RTE1, and it doesn't look great for wednesday, its a mixed bag, tbh it doesn't look great.
