IFAS web linkage was created by spculleton
I was killing a bit of time at lunchtime to day so I checked out the websites of the members of the IFAS. Nice sites, great range and so forth, and it really is great to see so many people spending their free time (or cloudy nights in other words :P ) helping out their fellow stargazers. One problem though, where was the link to irishastronomy.org?

In most cases it could be found by going to the Links page. Fair enough, but I would like to suggest an alternative. I feel that member societies should have an IFAS link and logo displayed prominently on their homepage, just like the ILPAC link on the irishastronomy.org homepage.

I know nothing about webpages, but I do know that it could only help to promote this site.

How about it?

I think it is a great idea but I would like to point out that IFAS have no authority over member societies so all we can do is politely request that clubs do that.
So, as the IFAS Web Master I hereby politley ask that member societies place a prominent link to us on their home page.

I will also be doing up a little IFAS logo/icon that people could just put on their pages somewhere that would make a nice link.

Hi Charles, firstly, could I ask you to update your link to IFAS to www.irishastronomy.org rather than to the yahoo E-group we are phasing out?

As for a full list of IFAS clubs, you can get them at: www.irishastronomy.org/ifas/members.php

Also, there is a second link for Tullamore Astronomical Society. Two members have posted sites now.
The usual one: www.iol.ie/~seanmck/tas.html
and this one: www.seanie-m.com/astro.htm (more up-to-date)

Please update your sites where you have just the one link posted.

Thanks all.
